supercharger oil gray colored

Pulled my s/c off yesterday to do some porting . I drained the oil and it was a gray color. Looked like it had some graphite in it, but it's not. I just changed the oil about 1000 miles ago and the oil that came out before looked good. Any body know what could cause it to turn light gray. By the way, it's an eaton and was the ford synthetic oil. thanks

I donno? But generally gray oil is from water intrusion. Just flush it good and try it again is what I'd try.

From: Colorado,
I agree with Rich but stick a magnet in there and swirl it around?

It's not water. Water would make it a milky color. I have noticed a little oil film at the base of s/c where it was not sealing good between the snout and s/c. Are you supposed to put sealant on the mating surfaces of s/c and snout. I didn't last time but noticed a little oil film over a period of time. I put a little film of sealant this time.
