Got questions on Shackles

My truck is lowered, I think 4 inch kit was used. Now my ? is on the shackels there are 2 holes. The leaf spring is in the top hole of the shackel. Now if I lower the leaf spring to the bottom hole of the shackle will this raise the truck, or lower it more. Becuse the truck is to low and I want to raise it back up again. There is a 1inch difference form hole to hole. I am looking for anything to stop this truck from rideing so ruff.

if you put the leaf spring into the lower hole of the shackle (i say all this as if you are looking directly at it, not laying upside down under the truck) it will raise your bed up because you are moving the leaf spring down. it will probably only give you about 1/2" raise though...what kind of shackels do you have? how is the ride rough? is the front lowered too?

That's correct. Looking at the shackle from a normal view (not under the truck) everything is opposite. The top hole = lower drop and vice versa...

I beleve the kit is a gorund force kit. I bought the truck used and was lowered all ready. The fornt is lowered also. The ride is some what ruff. When I hit a bump with the rear you deffently fell it in your back, and I just want to raise it so It dose not hit so hard back there

im not a suspension guru like some of the guys around here, but i think that if youre dropped too low, you might need a c-notch to keep your a$$ from hitting back there...maybe someone who has one can show a pic...

Nah that is ok. I have seen a pic before and I am not doing that to my truck. If anything I will raise it back up.

FYI, sounds like you have 2" shackles. I am only aware of one 4" shackle, and that's from JLP. I think those have 3 holes.

Keep in mind you never actually get a 2" drop from 2" shackles.., more like 1.25". You'll go about 0.75" higher going to the other shackle hole.
