Removing the S\C? little assistance please.

I got everything off and out of the way no problems. Now I am trying to just pull off the S\C and it wont budge. Anyone else have this problem.

Yes all 8 bolts are out except the back psg. side it's all the way loosened but I can't get it all the way out but I figured once the S\C was loose I could jimmy it out.

Before I do something stupid and suggestions.

This really is an easy job I just dont know how much force I can safely use to get it off.

Back in time to edit my post. It's starting to break free but is it supposed to break free here: see image below. Sorry for the stupid questions but I didn't expect the part to come too.

Thanks is advance
-Rich

It's doweled in place, so only try things that will lift directly up. Mine was a bit sticky. I climbed up into the engine compartment and gave a sharp pull up on the snout. It came loose with that. I'm a little guy, so it might have been easier for me to do this. The gaskets are all steel, so they shouldn't stick too much to either of the aluminum surfaces.

got it. I waited about an hour and went out and it popped right off?

anyway here is the I\C. Is this pretty consistent with a L that doesn't have a oil PCV kit?

From: Colorado,
Looks like you got the whole enchillada on the first break.

Are you planning on replacing the both gaskets and or the bolts?

That's about what mine looked like. Once you get the I/C removed, you can mop up the puddle of oil that is probably at the botom of the intake manifold.

I went through two cans of carb cleaner getting everything clean.

Fun job, eh?

37k miles on her.

The break seemed to do it. It's kind weird. I was pulling with everyhting I had and it wouldn't budge. I take a hour or so break go out and prepare to really yank her and just getting prepared to yank it popped off.

The gasket looked great and I was told I didn't need to replace it nor the bolts. So as for now I will re-use everything.

The S\C rotors were coated in oil also, is that normal?

I guess I need to get that I\C out and start cleaning.

thats exactly what my intercooler looked like. Except my truck only has 19,000 miles on it. I went through 3 cans of brake cleaner and had gotten nowhere. I ended up pouring acetone on it and it came right off and then sprayed what was left with brake cleaner.

Glad you got it off 0light1
Ya thats pretty consistant, but it doesn't have to be that way,
Get a PCV fix on that bad boy right away.

Granted mine only has 13K on it now, but this Lightning Enterprise PCV Fix seems to be doing it's job

Still had a tiny bit of oil coating the Manifold,
but it seems to stay there "only" TG

A "little" oil in the Manifold opening of the S/C,
but none on the Rotors
