Opening day at track......Next Step

Well Last season i finished the best time with my 99 lightning with a 13.42 at 103mph. Today was opening day down at englishtown and i ran two consistant 13.45 at 102. I only have a single superchip-4# jlp pulley and the 90mm mass air meter with the jdm cold air intake, Not to mention the oil breather and the boost bypass and new lakewood tration bars. The Problem is i am on a tight budget, I no some of you are out there saying "why did you get a lightning if your on a tight budget." Well i thought that only those mods would get me into the middle to high 12's. Obviously i am wrong. So I am asking all of you what is my next step to make it into the 12's consistantly. Thanks eddie Ps my 60 foot with the f'1 is a 2.10

Get your 60ft times down in the 1.80s and if you can get a set of slicks and drive shaft loop.

If the budget is too tight for the slicks work on your launch and get the 60ft times down. Enjoy and good luck!!!

You have a drive shaft loop don't you?

i'm not the most knowledgable but i'm pretty sure you should be into the 12's already. Basically a 12 sec pass in a box. Chip CAI Pulley Traction Bars. O and the 60' with traction bars should be alot lower. Give it hell

I think you should be running faster also. I ran a 13.19 with just the mods below with a crappy 2.06 60'. on f1's at 24 PSI.

Might be time for a custom dyno tune to free up some more horsepower possibly. Just curious, what was your 1/8th mile time and MPH?

I agree you should be running lower than that and your 60fts should be like 4/10 better. I ran my L last night for the first time and pulled consecutive 1.9 60fts on F1's at 26psi with a best 60ft of 1.9244 and a best 0f a 8.3074 @ 84.05, my 60ft on that run was a 1.9269. Are you spinning a lot at take off, any wheel hop, those are killers. Good luck

Get slicks, and if you run in the 12s you must have a drive shaft loop at most tracks. Do you have your chip burned for the oil breather cap, if not you could run lean. You have a problem of some sort. I ran quicker with stock boost.

Actually thats good for the first day of the season at E-town, I think a 2.10 on F-1's is good. E-town's bread and butter is the rice crowd, so traction at the line is something you can on hope for!
If the front wheel drive crowd starting snapping cv joints and axles, they wouldn't be back.
With the mods you have, I would think a high 12 is a reasonable goal.

Just give the track time to come around this season. Maybe I'll see ya there next weekend. I got 4 flats to fix today
