F-250 PSD question

hey guys, I posted this in the F250 forum already. But this one gets replys much quicker and you guys stull know your stuff. I work at a Tire shop. We are looking for another shop truck. We have a 97 chevy with spinners and various other stuff done to the 350...anyway

The car dealer across the street got a nice truck. I was all over it like **** on a blanket. Its a 2000 PSD F250, 2WD, standard cab with short box (not the huge *** ones) it had a banks stuff all over it. Not knowing anything about desils it had a bunch of gauges, 5 inch mandrel bent exhaust. Intake with filter. Boost controller. I couldnt look for injector upgrades or anything else cuz i dont know what im looking for. It had a chip that wasnt plugged in. Where is the PCM located on thoes thing? I want to plus the chip in. How do you reset the computer? The dealer owner said it didnt feel that fast. But then again the chip wasnt in there. Its that carmel color. It was a standard too.

It would look good with some 22 and the chrome acessories off it. How much power am i loosing with that chip off. I have heard how much power you can make with Diesels but does anyone have their site or can help me with looking for mods on it? Thanks guys

Ray

My dad has a 2000 Super Duty PSD and I know that even the most mild tune on a chip for a diesel would add at least 50 hp and even more torque. Usually with diesel chips there are 3 stages and I've heard that stage 3 chips add around 120 hp.

On my 02 F350 the PCM is located on the drivers side under the dash agaisnt the fender if that makes and sense. THere is a black plastic box that the PCM will be in and 2 8mm bolts hold it in. Under the hood it is a 10mm bolt to undo the PCM from the wirining harness. After that the comp should come out. BUT I would check and make shure that the previous owner hasnt cut a hole in the black box to remove the chip easy. I really dont understand how the chip can be "not plugged in" it should either be in or out nothing in between. Hope you get it figured out and enjoy the Powerstroke i have a 60hp diablo chip in mine and a drop in K&N and the chip made a night and day difference.
