strange noise on 1-2 shift

Whenever my truck shifts to second gear at WOT I hear a "shhhhh" sound about half a second before it shifts. I can only hear it if the windows are down. I have FTVB. Just wondering if this is a huge problem, or if I should even be concerned about it.

Do a search for "torque reduction" and all of your questions will be answered.

it's your front tires telling your rear tires to stop squeeling

Cool

OH OH OH!!!

Go to the SRT10 vid I posted on here and you can clearly hear Fords built in "fart" on the 1-2 shift. (to protect the tranny)

Everybody seems to describe the torque reduction as a fart noise. I gotta be honest the sound I'm hearing doesn't sound lie any fart I've ever had. It's probably better described as a high pitched screech (not tires spinning though). seem to hear it coming from passenger side window, when both are down.
