new pcm

hey guys,

I bought a new L boutta year ago and just got done ordering....

JLP chip, #4 pulley, traction bars, slicks, etc.

I was just wondering if anyone had any tips on my mods and mainly who I could buy a new already programmed PCM from so when somethng does happen I can just get my local non-ford shop to take it all off and get rdy 2play stupid at team ford.

you might want to consider calling johnny and trying to swtich that chip to a predator...could save you some money and hassle

What he ^ said. Or, if you're gonna buy a new PCM alter that one instead of the stock one as I remember reading once that replaced parts have a different letter/number in their serial identifying them as replaced or not factory...something like that. Don't know if it's true so maybe someone can verify/shoot down that statement here shortly...

i also remember someone saying that the new pcm would have to be loaded with you trucks individual PATS (sp?) before you could even use it in you truck, and that would have to be done by a ford dealer...so they would already know off the bat that you have a new pcm...some one correct me if thats wrong
