300 mile tank of gas

Ok. I have gotten a couple of 300 mile tanks. I am happy with that. Only problem is, I can only get a 300 tank with 93 octane. I drove my truck like a granny for a week. Got 297 miles when the low fuel light came on. I have been filling up with 93 because it is cheaper at the gas station I use than 91 at 7-11. I can go 320 with mildly conservative driving. A couple of wfo runs, and some tire shreddin fun late at night. What gives? Am I just fckin nutz?

One other question. Are there any long term ill effects of running nothing but 93 octane?

93 octane is all I use. Unless I lived in an area where I couldn't get it, I wouldn't use anything less.

Well I just got 380 or so miles per tank.

My MPG went up since the last time I made my post about really bad gas mialage. From 10 or so to 15.

Wierd thing is I get better MPG driving the truck like a maniac over granny style driving.

Must be the cocaine, hell of a drug.....

How big is your gas tank? 380/15=25gal. Isn't that awfully close to bone dry?

You guys make me . I get maybe 250 from a tank and your complaining about 300 miles from a tank. Of course, my drive to work is only 3 miles, so I do all around town driving. In fact, I've had the L for almost 7 months now and haven't hit 2900 miles on the clock yet. Damn I love this truck.

I drove from OKC to albuquerque and averaged 16.67 mpg. When I drove to KC from OKC, I used one tank of gas and made it to my hotel 336 miles with the fuel light ot spare

I hope there are no ill effects like the dealers told me about running 91 in a car designed for 87. (I know the dealer will tell you anything, and I shouldn't listen cause they are just trying to void a warrantee ) They told me running 91 in an engine designed for 87 will, for lack of a better word, "addict" the engine to 91.

I am ready to get pounced on

I don't know what your dealer told you; but, our trucks aren't designed for 87 octane fuel. Premium Baby, our trucks like premium.

93 octane.... Drink it if you got it.

I usually average around 300 mi per tank, which equates to around 12.8-13.2 MPG. But that is just driving to work. I am sure it would be closer to 350-400 on the road.
