Eaton Question, Boost Bypass Vs. sealing valve on bottom...

Just looking over the eaton sitting here....

Now when you unplug or perform the boost bypass, that little valve in the back of the eaton, located on the bottom doesn't open, correct?

It looks like a little bit of boost could seep out through this valve. (the little brass colored, round one on the bottom of the eaton)

If the valve will remain closed with the boost bypass performed, why not just seal that valve so nothing can escape?

Unless that valve has another use that I don't know of...

Any thoughts?

I believe the valve lets excess boost through at idle and part throttle, the boost bypass mod only keeps it closed at WOT which is when you want it closed, if it were sealed shut I think it would cause extra heat and part throttle drivability problems,

I tried the dime mod...and my pcv valve kept getting blown out of my valve cover. This didn't happen to me until I hit 18 lbs of boost.

I took the dime out....I have yet to go get a new factory part number PCV...but I think I may and just let the darned thing suck oil.

what would happen if you sealed that little round port on the bottom of the eaton (controlled by a butterfly valve) almost on the back edge?

I thought this only opened to allow excessive boost (boost bypass) escape?

Since the boost bypass mod is installed OR unplugged, why do you still need the valve?

It allows some pressure to escape even when closed, it is not air tight. Now if you plugged it, it would be air tight and you wouldn't lose the boost!
