No boost? this sucks!

Scenario:

in first gear at WOT, truck winds out to 5900rpm.
tranny finally shifts, slooooowwwwwlllllyyyy.
pedal still down, and autometer gauge reads just above zero boost- almost no acceleration.

This truck is no fun without boost. Please help me. Has anyone experienced this or have any ideas with what is wrong?

I saw in your other post that you have a 4# lower. In that case have you done the boost bypass mod? Or even just unplug the boost bypass selinoid?

NTIMB8,

4lb pulley, chip(conservative), FTVB.

When the truck is running well, it shows 14lbs max.
2-3 shift is perfect (hard at 5400-5500).

Thanks for responding,

Aaron

Thanks for the offer but I don't even have a L yet. I just like hanging around in here and learning as much as I can. Thanks though.

funny you ask (or maybe not)

The whole thing started out when I did the boost bypass mod (as shown by a certain vendor's website). 2 days later, the scenario mentioned before happened. I drove the whole way home (about 10 miles) with no boost. I pulled in to a shop in my home town where the owner is very respected, and has a modded lightning himself. (reversed the boost bypass before I showed him). His diagnostic showed a faulty boost bypass selenoid.

The dealer being closed for the night, I went home, and called my tuner. He suggested maybe slipping tranny clutches, and firm up the line pressure. Instead, I had the sensor replaced, and added a FTVB with Moroso pan. First day of good weather for traction was today, and upon testing I am dealing with the same reaction, but with moderately quicker shifting.

Sorry for rambling, I'm really in need of some suggestions.

Thanks, "jonesin' for boost" Aaron

I just got out of the Army and started a new job. My wife gets the next vehicle cause we have a youngin' and probably another on the way soon. Anyways, I want to pay with cash, and I will be able to in about a year or 2. I can wait.

Don,

I've done this. this is what I did 2 days before my lightning stopped running great for the first time. Pardon me for wanting to solve the problem before I do this again.

My theory (correct me if I'm wrong) is that my truck ran strong before the boost bypass. Maybe it's a coincidence, but I feel like there must be something else wrong, and would like to get to the bottom of it.

On a side note- the well respected mechanic that agrees with me is someone you know as well.

I don't know what is wrong with your truck, but I agree get it fixed before you tinker with anything. All I know is I have 60,000 miles with this mod and I have never had any problems.

Amp send me a e-mail at dhco@rcn.com I will give you my number maybee we can figure it out.

It keeps the truck from dumping boost
