12's

Yes I cant wait to get my lift bars and maby some nitto's to see if it will brake the 7's with out a stall converter and at full weight I don't know. I don't plan on making it a drag truck so I haven't decided on weather to make some passes with the right seat, spare, tailgate removed. I kinda like to know what it will do as it is on the street, this time was also on a full tank of gas I had just filled it up and did not know the track was going to be open (they have been hit or miss lately) next time I will keep it at about 1/2 full. I know there is more power there but with the stock block I told Justin at JDM to burn the chip SAFE so I know there is more there but to me it is better to run longer not faster, you see people all the time here that dyno and get unreal power and times then before long they join the blown motor club

lightning5.4,
I know thats a great time but with all those mods and a safe tune you should be in the 7's easy.
am I missing something here?

7's

I'm with you I hoped for 7.9 or 7.8 I don't know the track was not all that great and I am shure if I dyno tuned the truck I could squeez more out of it. Like I said I ask for a safe tune and they have not seen the truck just a list of mods, I am not getting any ping even in cold weather so I am shure there is more to be had but with the stock block I want it safe I hope this summer to get to a dyno that can tune a superchip and tweek the tune up a little but for now I guess I'll be slow, oh well

NICE....Hey at least your being sfe and you know a 7 is right around the corner. Are 1/8 just opend this past Friday (wish we a damn 1/4, better than nothing though) anyway I took my stang out there for the last time because I just sold it, she only pulled an 8.8 wich pissed me off becuase last time I pulled an 8.7 and was hoping for lower anyway back to the point, I CANT WAIT to roll the L out there, I have never seen anyone roll a L there and only a select few street cars can hit the 7 marker, I hope to see some jaws drop when I go, hope to go this coming friday, depends on work though....good run lightning5.4, at least you had fun!!

Well a 8.14 isn't slow but I bet when you get a dyno tune you will hit your goal and then some!!!

My goal this year is a 7.99.

I ran a 8.12 @86.18 with the exact same 60' as you. I have had people come over to my truck walk by and feel the back tires. I assume to see if there slicks or something. It's awesome to cut a 1.85 60' on stock tires.

7.99

thanks ND4SPD I too am looking at that 7.99 as a goal, I know the 8.14 is slow for the mods there was another guy I know there with a 01L he has a 4# pulley open cone filter and a pretty hot dyno tune on a flip chip he ran a 8.29 and a 8.35 with also good 60' times for the diff in mods and money spent it made me pretty SAD to say the least.(his is however RED) but there again I hope his power doesent cost him, another guy here in town has a 03 that he chiped on a dyno and talked about how fast it was, well he now is a member of the BMC. I think with the lift bars and maby 555R's and removing some weight (gas, all the junk in the cab) and some lanching practice that I may see 7.99 also I really wish I could get on a 1/4 mile track it may be that the cams and headers are hurting me in the 1/8'th without a stall converter and the truck might run better times on the long pull where the cams and headers can work to make up what the stock converter hurts on launch? just a thought
