MOD question

What kind of HP gain could I expect from a full exhaust set up and what is a good combo - longtube, shorty, x-pipe, h, ya know. Are any noticeable gains given from TB or mass air?

I gained 7 RWHP with a Accufab TB.

Mass air depends on year and mods.

I gained a solid 30FT/LBS and around 18HP across the board on my '03 with NO OTHER MODS. i.e. bone stock truck with long tubes.

I went with the JDM full kit.

I've got a TB, but it's just for looks. i've never dyno'd with/without back to back.

The factory '01+MAF is already 90mm. so unless you are using a KB (LOTS OF BOOST/AIRFLOW) or just want to be able to tell people that you have a MAF sensor the size of a hoola hoop, then stock should be fine for all but the highest HP trucks.

good luck.

later,
chris

Personally I'd wait awhile for exhaust mods. That $2,000 could be used elsewhere for more "productive" mods, and believe it or not, the stock exhaust is extremely efficient. Get yourself the basic chip (or predator)/pulley/filter mods first. Most bang for the buck! Oh....and the ported blower too

I have the chip, 6lb pulley, 2000 stall, Borla cat back and spray already so I though maybe some headers would help. I think mainly I want to change the cat back, I want it to be louder. I may just drop an off road x pipe in there, smog is not an issue where I am, and I could always put it back if it was. Anyone put an x in there and see some improvements?
