Tranny acting STRANGE...Help!!!!
Well, I took the truck out last night to show a friend of mine what the mods I just put on (4lb, NGK TR6's, 90mm MAF, JDM CAI, Predator custom tuned). Well, my F1's are beyond bald, and all I can do from even a roll ito it is spin and spin and spin... Anyway, I punch it from a 15 mph roll, still in first, and light them up. I stay in it, and when it shifts to 2nd, it shifts out of first and stays there. The RPM's wrap to about 5g just like it is neutral, but nothing happens. When the revs come back down, it will shift and take off. I thought that maybe this was just a freak thing, but it happened twice, so I parked the truck until I could find out what to do...
BTW, Torque Reduction is off and shifts are firmed up, how much I don't know...
HELP!!!!!

I had a similar experience with my transmission at 34K miles.
According to the SVT tech, the planetaries were faulty in my particular case. I had an instance like you describe at 1200 miles, but it miraculously cured itself. Only later after 33K miles did it finally break, only giving that first indication that there was a problem. Ford picked up the tab on the replacement.
It would seem to drive OK until I laid into it, at which point it would freewheel throughout the rpm range. Revs would come back down and the truck would begin moving again. Toward the end of its life, you could definitely feel the transmission begin to sap more and more power from the engine, which was trying to overcome the resistance. Finally it just quit and wouldn't move.
Hopefully your case isn't as severe....
BTW, I dated a girl about 4 years ago from Graford, TX. She was the PK constable's daughter.
She graduated from there in, I believe, 1997. Good times..

Red,
Sounds just like what I am going through. I have sent Gregg Evans an email and see what he says. BTW, what was her name, I'm sure I know her. Graford is a town of 500 people, and I have been here all my life. I graduated in 99, so I probably grew up with her!!! Small world!
Silver,
I have already tried, same problems???
Thanks alot, and any more input is appreciated!
