Installing boost gauge tonight...need help!

Unpacked my new gauge at lunch. Has the vacuum tubing and all but only two short wires on the gauge.

1) What is the best thing to use to connect the gauge wires to more wire to get the length I need? The crimp style connectors?

2) I plan on powering it from the dimmer / light source. How are the wires connected to the light/dimmer switch? Are they attached to a terminal the I can unscrew and just tap onto? Or are they straight wires with no terminal that I need to splice into? Again, what is the best way to join the wires?

Thanks guys!

Personally I think crimp style, butt-type wire connectors are the best. I actually use heat shrink type.

As for the connection to the dimmer wire. you're probablly need to use a splice connector. Those are the best, you don't have to cut the facotry wire.

If you need some, Radio Shack or any automotive store usually carries them.

Hope this helps

Electrical tape and wire stripers is all you need or you might try all that fancy stuff but this works for me.

The best thing to do is to solder the wires, next best is to use the butt connectors.
