new to the L and have some mod questions

I have heard of people talking bout the mod to keep oil out of the intake.. What mod is this and what do i need for it, as today i had the air intake off and noticed a slight amount of oil on the throttle blades and in the tb. What all do these trucks need to run low 13's? I don't want this thing to fly, just be able to whack stock camaro's and mustangs. Thanks a lot for the help guys.

What you saw or heard of is an 'Oil Seperator' which is pretty much one of those moisture traps found on an air compressor, this trap catches the excess oil before it reaches the plennum. Now and then you will have to drain it, and that's not a big deal. I bought and had mine installed at Razors Edge Motorsports in Margate FL., but you could save some money and buy one at a Home Depot store and you'll also need some rubber hose to fit.
Now about your goal for reaching the low13's, you might want to get a #4 lower pulley, low restrictive air filter like K&N, a chip or a predator and a GOOD DYNO TUNE which is most IMPORTANT. I went with the Predator because it reflashes a performance tune on the computer in your L. The predator also allows me to download the stock tune back in the computer if I happen to have major work done at the dealer which might VOID your warranty if you had a chip.
There are a lot more functions the predator also does eg. I firmed up my
transmission shifts just by selecting the amount of firmness I want. This will also help in reaching low 13's or even 12's, you might not want to fly but you will! Be prepared to say WOW!! There are a couple more things you can do
like exhaust, bigger pulley, nitrous and so on but if you don't become greedy
for more speed like the rest of us then you should be happy with these mods.
Glad to help and enjoy, keep us posted on your progress!

In my opinion one of the best mods for your money out there now is the ported eaton.Itll give you more boost, cooler temps, and easily a low 13.Add a nice chip and air filter setup and were talking 12s.All for under a grand. If your handy you can even port the eaton yourself.I did

thanks for all the help guys. Any pics on what needs to be ported on the eaton? I have no problems doing my own work.
