any progress made on the Lightning R hood?

did anything ever happen with the Lightning R hood?

BMWBig6 was trying to make it happen.

if anybody else is interested in a functional ram air hood with heat exchanger louvers, please contact Cervinis: info@cervinis.com or sales@cervinis.com

http://www.cervinis.com/

or roush: feel free to call a Roush sale representative at 1-800-215-9658

http://www.roushind.com/html/comp_lay.html

I still want one, and I want somebody to make a fiberglass roll pan (1 piece or 3 piece w/end caps).

let 'em know if you do too.

later,
chris

I want to say that since there is a new body style out now and the 97-04 heritage is coming to an end, he was unable to find anyone who would do it, if it was for the new body style F-150 they would most likely jump all over it though.

I don't like that hood that much. There was another pic of just the ram air hood scoop I like that hood. Or just the hood with the shaker on it. Now that hood I want.

Chris, is that hood photo shopped?

That is awesome! Does someone make that hood? I would prefer it without the vents.

Thumbs up

Very, very NICE..is that also a functional cowl, IMHO the more heat you can get out of the engine compartment, the better...

Haha... thats funny cause it's true. As I have expressed in previous posts, that is an awesome hood! If i had the money to get a new hood it would be a no brainer to go with that one!

I love that hood. I really wish they would be made.
I don't think it'll ever happen. There is a huge thread over on NLOC about that hood. It was/is still a great idea BMWbig6 had,if they were made I'd buy one.

Everyone show your intrest, contact Cervinis, maybe they'll make it happen.

Some company should pick it up. It's a great design that would surely sell.

For you guys that want a custom hood made, check this post out.

http://jeepforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=133008

Some guys wanted a cowl hood for their grand cherokees made, they drew up a design and the company they found had a prototype shortly thereafter, turned out very nice. I don't know what you guys want and what they are capeable of, but I bet they would be willing to try and do something if enough people were interested.

They only need 20 buyers. Fiberglass is $450+shipping, carbon fiber is $650 + shipping. After the first 20 are sold the price increases by $150 (those were the prices for the Jeep hood)

This hood I described is for the 93-98 Grand Cherokees... I would contact the guys in the thread I posted.
