ran a vette last night

Quick story,
Headed home on I90 saw a C5 vette, finally got him to bite. Unfortunately we were allready going 80 so advantage vette. I tap the overdrive off button and floor it right as he does (I tap the button again so I'll shift again). I immediately start to pull on the vette. Put 1 maybe 1.5 cars on him up to about 120. At that point he started gaining back (damn brick of a truck). By 130 he was about even again and we had to slow. Didn't get an opportunity to hit it from a lower speed. OOO still had like 200-250 lbs of sand in the back too (bags for traction in the crap weather)

Damn I need a camera mount.

Good run.......That is the only downfall to our trucks.....We lose the aerodynamic battle from 125mph and up.....Even a stock C5 will start to gain at that point....BUt none-the-less, good kill anyway..

Konig,
I totally agree with you. He gave me a thumbs up after we ran. He probably dropped his jaw seeing me pull him at those speeds. I was surprised I pulled up there too. But my truck is kind of a freak on the streets (like its owner I guess). I ran a new E55 AMG MB last season and sat with him from about 10mph till 110. He should have pulled me by more than the 1/2 a car length that he did. Who knows. Hope to find some more good runs soon though. And maybe the weather will warm up up here.

Tom

I pray for cold weather almost every day... it gets that "freak" feeling you're talking about once the temps hit 40 or so... cant hope for anything colder...being as I live so far south and all. The elevation down here is great however.

I still have not run a C5, walked a few C4s a few times....no Z06s yet either...even though I see them all over the place. I have relaxed the street racing a lot though, its too much trouble these days if you get cought...Im not usually in the mood to risk it (too many speeding tickets) , the track is where its at anyhow

I know what you feel living here in SW Florida. If it drops to the 40's or 50's I'll set my alarm and head out for some road work before it starts to warm. Less than 50* and less than 50% humidity is just like hitting a 75 shot of N2O.

BTW: It's 80* and real sunny right now. So I'll stop bitchen.
