Headers and exhaust install

F' it! I'm going to buy the complete exhaust system from JDM.
Do I need any special tools for the install?
Full long tubes, high flow cats and silver bullet muff's

click my sig and check my lightning modification gallery for some pics.

I can't remember needing any "special" tools, but you might think about how you want to route the HEGO and wiring. I chose to use a hole saw for a cleaner look.

later,
chris

Its a pain in the A$$ to install, If you don't have a lift. My buddy and I did it. It took about 12hours. The real pain is the passangers side O2 sensor and the trany location.

You'll need plenty of these

or

You don't need a lift, just 4 good jack stands that go high, and I wouldn't bother trying to save the stock exhaust. For some reason I wanted to save the stock exhaust in case I sold the L, then I could put the stocker back on. It took me so long to get the stocker off that I wound up just getting pissed off and taking a sawzall to it. Cut it into a million pieces. Plus, after you get the new exhaust on the last thing you are going to want to do is to go through that again.

It's worth it though.

I always take them beer breaks, takes the edge off and lets you regroup. Getting pissed off while working on your truck only makes things worse. The only bad thing about too many beer breaks is you will have to wait till the next day to go for a test drive.

Did you have to take out the rear transmission support that goes between the frame rails?

I'm trying to save the stock exhaust, without cutting it. Got the passenger side out, agree that 02 sensor was a bitch., can't get the drivers side exhaust out in one piece though.

Looks like I need to remove that transmission support to accomplish?

Buy some copper exhuast gaskets gaskets for the long tube to cat connection. You will save yourself a headache a year from now.
