Drop That A**

Help!

I just picked up my brand new '03! It rules except for the fact that the *** end is sticking up in the air. I have seen the shackles that are used to lower the rear. Is this a smart move, any problems?

Is it easy to install?

Where do I get them reasonably?

Thank you!

Not to be a wisenhimer but works well...

They take like 20 min to install, go with the 2" drop IMO and you can get them from any of the supporting venders

It will even it out but there will still be a little of a rake. On an '03 there will prolly be more of a rake than my '01. I've done it, it is a walk in the park

you need to do more than a 2 inch on a 03. i have a 03 and they jacked up the rear more than any other year so they could carry more. have to go with a 4 to make it look anywhere near normal. keep in mind it wont actually lower it 4 inches. Jr

BEST OF LUCK ON THE 03 xz06

Get out the CC's and enjoy
JLP has them here http://johnnylightningperf.com/newca...p?intProdID=93

Don't expect to get the full amount of drop it advertises,
but it will work wonders on an 03.

There are also cheaper alternatives like mine,
http://www.stylinconcepts.com/part.c...=30&lc=pfpartt

but you will get less lowering than the long ones Johnny sells.

Here's Mine

Some people with 03's got some 99-02 rear springs and 2" drop shackles. It will be even with the front after that. Not sure on the cost tho.

But getting more than 2" shackles gets risky. Risky meaning that the frequency of people needing shimwork increases significantly. Shimwork also requires alignment, which is gonna cost you. With the DJM ($34.95) 2" shackles, although the drop is slightly less, shim work is not required. For me, I dont think its worth messin with shims and spending money on alignment to get the exra half inch from 3" shackles. Install is EASY as heck. I used a set of jackstands, and the factory jack. Worked great. Took maybe 30 min. All it is, is 4 bolts that u need to take out and reinstall. Jacking it up probably takes longer than doing the actual shackle swap itself.
