Z06 Owner

Hello all! I am currently a Z06 owner until this coming Tuesday. I am trading her in on a new 03 Black Lightning. My dad had a white 03 and it convinced me that these Lightnings mean business! I am looking forward to interacting with all of you!

We have a similar situation at my house except I have the 03 black lightning and my dad has the 03 black Z06. Best of both worlds! (I don't thnk he would ever trade his 06 though)

You will not miss it too much! I have an 01 C5 and my 00 Lightning, and the only time I want to drive the Vette is if my truck is on Empty! How many times have you taken the Vette in for warranty work? Mine has been in 6 times since new, (only 19K miles) the Lightning has been in 1 time...for a leaking pinon seal (44K miles). The only thing you will miss is gas mileage, and a good stereo. The Vettes as you know will get around 30 on the road, and my L only gets about 16. The Lightning has a terrible stereo, that is my only complaint, and it has long since been fixed....thank goodness for aftermarket radios! I can't remember the last time I have checked out Corvetteforum.com P.S. the seats in the truck blow away the seats in the C5, and they don't "rock" as I am sure you are familar with! Enjoy!

Jimmy

Welcome aboard "XZO6". I'm sure you will find many hours of pleasure in your new L and on this forum. The L's a great truck, and the folks on this forum are second to none. IMHO

I think I read a thread at the beginning of last week where someone just traded their L to buy a ZO6. Kinda funny how things work.

See ya on the boards.

I would try to work out a way to keep the Z06 and get the Lightning.
You never know when you'll need to haul just one golf club or something...........................

wow! thanks for all of the responses! i was a member of www.z06vette.com. great group of guys. very respectful of other vehicles and especially the blown cobras and lightnings! my dad always praises this site.

blown 318, you asked about any major mods. i removed the cats and then made a custom cat-back system for it. you don't hear many that sound truly good! mine did! i was considering a mangesson super charger. i decided to just go with the lightning. someone wrote that it is practical. i agree, that's what sold my wife on the idea!!!!!

takecover, you asked about warranty. well, knock on wood, i will have the car until this coming tuesday and have never had a problem one. i have several friends with the same year model as mine '02 and they aren't having any trouble. granted, i have had mine for over a year and a half and have only put about 4,000 miles on it.

i am going to need lots of help getting up to the 405hp number! sounds like you all have a ton of knowledge! i look forward to my time here!

thanks again!

To get 405rwhp outta these trucks doesnt take much more than a chip, filter, and pulley set up. Congrats on the purchase, your gonna love it.
