it should be safe, with a safe tune...
Meaning richer a/f ratio and safe timing...

I have been running that same combo for about 13 months on 91 octane Ca gas. No problem at all. Makes 436 hp and 500 torque. I can even tow my boat with it. If you have a good tuner, you should be fine. Skip

Hell ya, some of us are running 15 lb's on the Eaton
and juicing it on top of that.
My stock block's still together

12 on a KB is no prob with the right tune

if thats all the boost your going to run, why not stay with the eaton and spend the same amount of money elsewhere, and be faster. unless theres a built shortblock in the future.
just something for you think about, anyhow, good luck.

the built engine might be in the future depending on how hard i push the KB on the stock block. but chiz i understand what you are saying. thanks for the replies guys. anymore KB users who want to put in their opinion would be appreciated.
thanks,
simon

I wouldn't spend the money unless you planned on more than 12 psi. If both pump out enough for you to 12 psi means that the air being pumped out by each is approximately the same. The KB will need less HP to drive it and also deliver cooler discharge air temps. I don't think the difference would be worth the hassle for a measly 12 psi. But, if you have the cash go for it.

BTW, the KB moves around 2.3L per revolution at 100% efficiency which is more than the Eaton(approximately 1.86L per revolution at 100%).

Also some people have complained that their KB blower has locked up or the bearings have went bad.

Click on my sig pic for some videos and you can see my F150 online photo gallery for some pics of dyno sheets.

Ya for 12 pounds of boost 3 grand is alot of money...unless you plan to do more later. But 12 pounds from a KB you should be just fine with a safe tune. If you got the cash go for it
