Bed rug question

When i installed the bed rug about 6 months ago i removed the tie downs from the bed of the truck and never put them back in. I like the clean smooth look without them. Now I might need to use them and was wondering if I put them back on will there be noticable holes in the bed rug when I take them off again? Will i be able to sorta "fluff" the rug after I take them back out to cover up the holes or will they always be visible?

I cut a small straight slit where the tie down comes through, it looks like it came that way from bedrug.

I just used and awl to punch holes through the rug to put the screws through for the tiedowns. Mine is extremely clean looking and has no slits cut in the rug for the tie downs. I'm sure that if I took the screws out, those holes would not even be noticable

You most likely won't notice the holes. What will be noticable is where the bedrug was compressed between the tie down and the side of the bed. What I do is take the T-30 bit and screw and put it into the tie down. Find the hole and push the drill untill the screw is started. The other hole is easier to find.

I did the same as fractaldragon, putting the tie downs on top of the bed rug.

I just went out and took one off. Screw holes are not noticeable and you can't even see an indentation where the tie down was. Don't know what the back side looks like thought.

I decided to put the tie-downs on over the rug because I was thinking that it is a theft deterrent.

I figure that if people are stealing rear seats from SUV's, a nice bedrug may be next on the list. The rugs come out very quickly and easily if they're only attached with velcro.

Never know what to expect in my neighborhood anymore...

An Ice Pick and a T-30 , thats all you need.

It looks clean with them installed, but if you want to take them out then the holes wont be noticable... thats the great thing about carpet like this

Thank you very much. That's exactly what I was hoping to hear.
