Mercedes SL55 AMG!!!

Before you get your hopes up, I should say I didn't win. It goes like this: Last night after picking me up some taco bell, an SL55 AMG comes flying up behind me and the light happens to turn red. He pulls up next to me and and throws a casual glance. But judging from the way he was driving I knew it was on. When the light turns we both take off normal and feel each other out, then he nails it. We were neck and neck until about 40-50mph when he hit third hard (maybe second) and took off. He walked on me easy! I have never had anything come close to how easy he walked. He was ahead by 5 car lengths when we hit traffic. Dam that car was f*&!ing fast. But it better be for its $120,000 MSRP . Oh yeah,, I am 100% stock, but not for long after last night.

For those who don't know, this is the most powerful production Mercedes ever built:
Supercharged 5.5L 24-valve V-8 engine
493 hp & 516 lb-ft

Those Benz's are bad ***. Luckily I haven't run across one yet. The E55 AMG's are just as fast if not more so. Mid 12 second cars bone stock.

But as you said, for $120,000 it should be.

Only hope

Your ONLY hope against that beast is full throttle from the light.

The Traction control is brutal on them, so if he's not a good driver, it'll cut throttle on him and you'll win up to MAYBE 60mph.

Once traction isn't an issue, get used to looking at the rear end.

On a funny note: These AMG models work just as well as our trucks... with a chip and a pulley, they gain some serious power.

Holly crappers, a 12 sec. Benz. That sure is one sweet looking car though. The $120,000 puts it just a little out of my price range. Hell, that's more than I originally paid for my house. I'll sure keep my eye for them now.

Well its close...the S600 has more torque.

I can stay door to door with Steele's 411/526 12.3 sec. Lightning from a roll on in my S55 but from a stop I just walk away from him because of the traction control. Plus Steele drives like a girl.......

dead stop with slicks and Steele would walk me..... now my Lightning is a different story....he dosnt want to tangle with my L......

Are the hp and torque ratings off the flywheel or from the rear wheel?

D-Day

Manufacturers always use crank HP.

The SL55 is a truly awesome factory hot rod, done right.

But buy an '03 Cobra and install a $4,000 ProCharger kit and you have WAY over 500 rwHP and are solidly in the 11's.

And you have enough money left for an endless stream of hookers to ride shotgun while you pimp up and down the street in front of the Benz owner's house.

its getting pretty brutal out there. Was just reading in autoweek about an after market tuner for VW that offers 3 stages of the new R32 (i think thats the model) V6 GTI all wheel drive. They tested the mid stage ll around 400 hp. and got 0-60 in 3.2, quarter mi in the high 10s or low 11 and 202 mph top speed on pump gas. They haven tested stage lll yet , around 600 hp. They're using high pressure twin turbos. We're talking super bike terretory here.

I might be wrong, but I don't think it takes $4000 to get a Cobra into the 11's. But I would like to know more about the hookers
