they need to bring over a 2004 lightning in that same 19 degrees and run it I'd bet it'd get nearly 155mph or better.

I quickly skimmed the first page, didn't see a thread. I usually am found in the 04 Forums. If it is OFN I apologize, although the article is dated for today.

but while we are here. What does horsepower really have to do with top speed for this particular application? Why would colder weather help a lightning achieve a better top speed? Is it unable to redline in 4th gear? Because as long as it can redline in 4th gear, horse power counts for absolutly nothing extra.

Gaughan's job is simple -- go faster than 147.54 mph, which is what a Ford F-150 Lightning ran last summer.

Dodge has countered by dropping a Dodge Viper motor into their short-bed production truck.....

It's kind of nice to see a Car Mfg War,
instead of a Tuner War for once
And I actually dig the fact that they're outright calling
Ford Out and going head to head with them.
If Ford don't counter back with a faster and better Gen III
I would sell my L on that alone, THIS IS SOME GOOD SCHITT.

For me growing up was always the Chevy Ford war's,
and NO DOUBT I have always been a Chevy Guy.
My dozen or so Chevelle S/S's will always be car of choice for me.
But I've also had GTX, RT Super Bee, and a few others,
DODGE was always there with the Motor Power
"in the Special Cars",
but anyone thats owned a 1970 RT SUPER BEE or a GTX knows
that the insides were thee most ugliest, most uncomfortable,
plastic cheap looking thing you could find. But that kind of Ugly meant the kind of Ugly you wanted due to it's power. Schitt I even had an old black 4 door 60 something chrysler ??? my uncle gave when I was like 16, the thing had a Hemi and a push button tranny build into to left side of the dash. SOB chirped gears when you pushed a button, hehehehe.
And who can forget their Van's with this crazy *** huge shifter
lever type thang that stuck out of the dash like I don't know what. But they were cool and I had to have one because it had this great big shifter that went up and down and wasn't on the colum like all auto's were, bla bla bla

So to Sum it up
I DON'T THINK THIS DODGE IS FAST ENOUGH, TO OVERCOME
THE UGLY
