Dropping the front....

I'm going to lower the front of the L with 1 inch coil springs. I just developed the 'clunk' after about 21,000 miles, also.

Are these the only parts I'll need to have for the installation and allignment?

Napa cam bolts part# 264-2955
Herb's washers (clunk washers)
Belltech coil springs

You might wanna shorten the sway bar end links a bit.

1" is hard to notice...and sometimes it wont be noticable at all.... you have to remember that most coils dont give you the exact drop they advertise. They are can be off by about .5" or so depending on the truck's weight and some bad luck

Is that really necessary for a 1 inch drop? Is it something I can elect not to do?

I'll make sure I measure to see how it turns out.

I would probably ask around a bit too before hand, there are some people who have done a 1" on these boards... I would ask if they think it was worth it or not. If it was a car then 1" would be much more noticable..but these trucks are so jacked up from the factory its a lot harder to tell

you shouldnt need to touch your sway bar either, I didnt do anything to mine and my drop is more drastic..I have zero problems and she corners much better than stock

I did the 1" in the front and thought it was very noticable. I was happy and wouldn't want to go much lower as I can barely get the floor jack under the front now. I got shorter links to level out the bar. I don't know the difference as I didn't drive it with the stock ones still in. It was just easy to do at the time. Hope this helps on your decision. My only grip was/still is finding someone to properly align the damn thing.

It's old school. The new ones I've seen are quite a bit thinner. But, the way the truck is now, it barely clears most concrete stops in parking spaces (maybe 1/8" to spare if I pull all the way forward). Any lower and I know I would've hit something by now.
Although, I do like the 3/4 drop look as well. I just didn't want to do shocks when I dropped mine. The 1/2 was like 120 bucks.

I have never really scraped on anything other than a steep inclined driveway... I clear 99% of parking stops with no problem..you get an eye for what you can clear and what you cant after a while. Very seldom do I see a questionable one.

I dont usually pull all the way up, just half way..the front of the bumper cover is a little higher than the rear is. Thats just habit though, I did the same with all my trucks.

I know what you mean about the shocks, but you have to look at it like and upgrade, it's not only needed for the drop, but a worthy mod in itself.

Now if you're TampaBlack...then your 1" lower than me in the front...he says he has problems with clearing things..but that makes sense since I dont have an inch to spare as it is... but it looks good with the slight rake

Why don't you install drop shackles also? Would be a nice touch.

Already have them. I'm dropping the front to regain some of the rake and close the front fender well a little.

One other thing... Do I have to buy 4 cam bolts, or is the part number above for a kit?
