Lakewood Traction Bars?

Theres a couple sets of lakewood traction bars on ebay right now that are missing "a few nuts and bolts" as they put it but they are at a reasonable price right now. Does anybody have any experience or opinions with these? thanks!

How much do they want? Cause you can get them from summit for $104 with free shipping!

I have Lakewoods if all they are missing is the nuts and bolts that is okay. I replaced mine with grade 8 hardware, lakewood sends grade5 I have all my grade 5 stuff I can get measurements for you if needed. There is also a set of 6 shims theat you may need , I did. Email me if you buya set and need the nuts and bolts I can send you mine but it would be better and probably cheaper just to buy new grade 8. BDAZSVT@adelphia.net

Picture

, but after seeing Ron's picture claiming he hit it, then it means there is not much room left for me. I'd take the Lightning with the cool rims any day. She's very beautiful.

right now there are about 3 sets going for about $70. I'm sure they will climb though, still have 2 days to go before bid runs out. It says they were returns and they are selling them on ebay so cheap because they were missing the hardware but all other parts are there. So, my question is will they actually help me hook up better or are they junk?

If your "L" is modified they won't help you with traction. Only thing I've found that helps that is self-control. They will keep your axle from wrapping up.

Stab...not now...not now...NOW!!! works for me on F-1's

i have lakewoods and they work well. i wouldnt have a supercharged application without trac bars. like the guy above said, its good insurance against leaving your rear end on the starting line. the lakewoods will eliminate ANY axlehop if installed correctly and save your u-joint.

can't say you'll hook up any better but you sure wont be axlehopping anymore.

if you feel confortable buying something missing parts by all means bid on them, the nuts and bolts are easy to replace. i had to use quite a few washers as shims since they kit didnt come with enough to fill up the space under my leaves.

i just put on a set

I did notice that mine helped with axle wrap, gave me a more firm planted feeling compared to not having anything there it helps, and worth the money.

I'm seriously considering buying some lakewoods in the enxt few days.

I've search on the topic and most people suggest getting grade 8 hardware for it? Can someone explain to me what all that is suppose to be?

also when installing do you need to jack/stand the rear of the truck?

I'd prefer just cralwing undernearth and isntalling, since I don't own any thing to jack the truck up really.

reply or e-mail me if u got answer: wein@charter.net
thanks

Pics with grade 8 bolts.

grade 8 bolts are much stronger than stock ones.
I believe they stretch instead of snap

Part # LAK-21715

Good for the $$$! Plus they're easy to remove for warranty issues etc. And require no drilling
