I had an AF1 on my truck before I went to a ram air hood and I just used the K&N filter charger kit to clean and oil mine.

I did the same thing. The AF1 became a red filter after using the K&N cleaner and oil. If you want the blue back you can buy the specific oil/cleaner from Troyer Performance.

Get the Accel Kool Blue filter oil and cleaner kit. It's the same as K&N stuff, only blue. $8 at Jegs, where I got mine.

Just a warning, the blue color only lasts a month at best. I respray mine about that often. Something about the dye I guess.
