99-04 changes to lightning and 1/4 times...

This is starting to annoy me.
All the dodge boys claim that a lightning (BONE STOCK) can only run a 13.7 Because that is what the "impartial" magazines said.

Now I was thinking, my '99 bone stock (factory paper air filter) ran 13.6x.

It seems that the lightnings got much faster since '99.
Heck someone ran a new '03 or '04 lightning to a 13.1 or 13.0. (STOCK)

I know the rear end change 3.55 to 3.73 played a part, the more aggressive computer programming from cux 1 to cux 2, (is there a newer version)

What else has improved on a gen 2 lightning to make it faster?
(not color, not overhead console, not grab handle on a-pillar etc...)

What else has improved on a gen 2 lightning to make it faster? From 99-present

Further, the dodge boys claim the driver of the srt-10 in the "INFAMOUS VIDEO" wan't familar with his truck. Didn't Johnny Lightning drive his L to the track with 21 miles on it and run a 13.1 or 13.2? How familar can you be with a vehilce in 21 miles?

Thoughts, comments, gripes..... (no gripes)

Well he did have a 99 for the previous 2 years...............I am sure he was firmiliar with the driving technique by then.

Besides auto cars/trucks take very little to learn how to drive them to their potential. Manuals are a lot more challanging. Thats why there are 600/600 KB Cobra's out there that can't run quicker than a 11.5..............even if it is at 125+mph

Biggest change was the head design on the newer ('03 up) L's. The Dodge boys are just cry babies. They are stuck with one thing we aren't, we have an automatic. The 6-speed is going to OK for skilled drivers, and suck for the average joe. They just need to shut the hell up and take their licks. Or, get some mods to keep up with our 380 HP, $33,000 trucks. LMAO

I wouldn't say that was the biggest change affecting HP on newer Gen 2Ls.

in fact it didn't affect HP/TQ one bit.

the changes were 3.73s, 90mm MAF, air box opening, tuning, etc.

plus the introduction of Sonic Blue in '03 made them quite a bit faster

later,
chris

The dodge boys just cannot admit that a 33,000 truch is beating up on their $45,0000- $65,000 beloved SRT10. Cry babies.

i think the larger intercooler in 01 had a role in the added power also.
