well I a new sound started about a week ago and did not sound like an exhaust leak as much as it sounded like and old push rod motor lifter noise...... anyway fair warning to all , I've read the warnings posted here and put it off for a week and I final decided to check my plugs,.... one was loose. 2nd one back on the drivers side.
tight now and no more noise. I installed these TR6's 900 miles ago which was about 6 months ago and I installed them correctly
.
It is possible for them to loosen on there own.....it is not always improper installation..............but, 900 miles has got me wondering if I just didnt get that one tight enough or is it possible for a plug to loosen in just 900 miles on this truck?

Alum is a tricky metal Red, it is very possible that it wasn't tight
even know you thought it was, when you put the plugs in.
Did you ever screw Plastic fittings together ??? Sometimes while
trying, they bind up and you can't turn them no more, (they appear tight) but MEANWHILE THEY'RE NOT.
Alum kind of does that too. Ford apparently ran into this problem and actually put out a bulletin telling their mechanics to screw each plug in and out three times before finally snugging it up.
TG you caught it in time
GOOD EAR RED
(bad reaction time, but good ear)

My plugs have done this(bind). I always snug them down by hand before getting the socket out. I did not know about the notice to employees, but I did start useing the technique after my first plug change. The funny thing is, it can fool you. Especially if your trying to be cautious and not over torque them.
I pulled my plugs this morning to regap them, before heading to the dyno. I called Ford every dirty word I could think of while doing it. Made things go much smoother.
Rocks
See....thats the problem, you guys don't change your plugs enough. When you get to about the 20th plug change you start to notice how nice and smooth the plugs screw in and out.....you gotta lap in those plug threads

I do that all the time, except I use the ex's name

Good catch Clay! Saved yourself a nice dent in the hood.
