Unoid,

My SBTB also use to whistle. The wine/whistle stopped once I aligned the TB (to include it's gasket) to the plenum. I'm thinking it flows much better now. So take your TB out of someone else's Woo Woo and make it flow better.

Hey fellas, don't forget to throw in the better throttle response thing. I just don't want to hear about all that unimproved perf. especially after purchasing one.

MM & FF did show a power increase(as I recall was over 10hp) in using the Accufab Single Blade over the stock throtle body when they were working with the KB Blower and comparision to the Eaton. But at that point in their testing, they were up around 430hp+. I wouldn't describe the single blade as a "worthless" mod, as it does seem to improve throttle response on most that have it and discuss it. But I think most would agree - that until you're well over 400hp - the stock throttle body is sufficient. And unless you're seriously interested in getting into that range of power, or like the looks of them; as far as "value" for your dollar goes, you're better off spending the usual $400 they cost, on something else.

The reason they're talking about ported blowers is because the running PRICE of a single-blade T-body is anywhere from $400.00-$500.00 bucks. This brings you to wihtin a few bucks of a ported Eaton, which clearly gives a MUCH more substantial return on your investment in terms of REAL power gains.

I'm not knocking the T-body, as I've had one on my truck since day one, and I like the looks, and throttle response it offers, BUT I can definitely say that the gains it offers in terms of HP are marginal at best. Unless, as is stated above, you're pushing 15+ psi witha ported blower, or KB, in which case the motor is actually able to take advantage of the extra airflow the S/B T-body is capable of moving at that power level. Just my .02.

Later,
Rob

I believe Next Gen Motorsports sells a completly ported out and smooth stock like TB for around 200bucks if you dont trust yourself with a dremel. ProMod would be able to tell you better, but I havent seen him post in awhile. Check out their website.Next Gen Motorsports
