Apten porting pulley combo
What kind of pulley are you using with the Apten ported blower? I have a 6# on the truck right now but wonder if it's still safe after porting the blower. Is a reburn necessary?
when you have the supercharger ported it typically adds 1-3lb of boost. So if you had a 4lb lower, it would be adding more like 6lb from the factory. There are some people using a ported blower with a 6lb lower, but that's like 8 additional psi of boost. That's a little scary on a stock bottom end.

Do you actually gain boost, or just get what you suppose to? Say you have a 6# lower, with the heat it generates and other restrictions you would see around a 4-5# increase. With the porting wouldnt you see the true 6#s?

If you guys are replacing your 4 and 6#’ers with smaller pulleys after porting your blowers, then my question is why bother porting?
Seems to me the power you gain from the porting is negated when you put a smaller pulley on.

On my side of the country, we enjoy sunshine all year long, racing all year long and the ladies looking fine all year long. Ill sacrifice on some little extra boost.

Waste of money IMO.

I don't know that it is a total waste.
The Eaton I think is rated up to a certain RPM. With the port job you can spin the blower slower and create the same amount of boost as people with a bigger pulley and no port work.
With that in mind it should give you more potential with the Eaton. The only reason people are swaping to a smaller pulley, is they don't know how much "power" their stock block can handle. I'm sure when people start using the Apten on a built block you may see the potential for alot more boost then you did before.
I'm not speaking from expeirence, but just from what I read. I could be wrong.
