Apten comment + hood & FTVB question

Hey!
First, just got my s/charger back from Apten. It looks AWESOME!!. Real good workmanship...I can hardly wait to put it back on after I get my block from Johnny (JLP).
I also received today my Cervini hood. The was slight damage to the corners . I am no bodyman, and was wondering if you knew if this was a big deal to fix before I got it painted? The damage essentially looks like the fibreglass was chipped right on the corner
Anyway, thanks for all your help...oh yeah, while am at it, should I install a FTVB? What exactly does it do? and where do I get one? I haven't seen the item on any of the tuner's websites.
Slowly, but surely, my baby is finally being pieced together again

the FT VB is (in my opinion) the BEST mod for the lightning.

Phenominal!

I bet I have read 20 threads about hoods damaged in the corners.. You woud think they could ship them better. Try searching to see what others have done....

I to received a cervini hood with a cracked corner.I even unpacked the hood b4 accepting from the shipper. unfortunately it didn't show up until my body man was priming. Don't think their ready to paint when you get either it has lots of pinholes and other flaws that show up after primer. everything was easy to fix and I love the look. Also had to shim the devil out of the hood to make the lines right

Guess I was real lucky The shipping was a short distance so the truckers didn't have too many chances to drop/kick it

The hood needs to "cure" before painting. Instruction that come with the hood explain this in detail, but Iam sure your painter knows this

Michael,

I have a Cervini's hood but mine was used when I got it and it was in great condition. Whoever fixes it, make sure that they use fiberglass for the repair, some shops want to just patch something like this with bondo and it won't be strong enough. Cervini's should pay for it.

I have a cabinet full of FTVB's, just give me a call Monday. I'm sorry I missed your call today, it's been crazy around here.

I'll talk to you Monday

Tim

Call Cervini and tell them they can pay to have your hood fixed or you want a undamaged one. Why should you have to pay? you didn't damage it. Since this has happend many times over, the shipper is to blame.! Is called **** Poor Packing.

Thanks guys!.. I have the complaint form ready to go. The packaging was suspect to sy the least. Only the corners were protected by styrofoam...easy to come apart, which happened. Just a p*ss off, thats all.

Tim, thanks for the reply. I will be getting a FTVB, as well as considering the side step billet. I have a black L, with chrome rims.....do you thinnk it will look ok on the truck? Don't want anything too flashy, just something to compliment the wheels.

Look forward to your replys!

Michael
