I want to redo my exhaust ... HELP

im in the middle of 3 different projects at once... Iv got my hood, but still not painted or installed, need to install one more amp to finish my stereo and then got new headlight and tailights ordered... but after all thats done, im redoing my exhaust...

currently i have 40 series cat back Flowmaster... it sounds good, but not as loud as I would like.... and not to mention, the tips coming out the side arent done very well... i would like bigger ones and shinnier.. and more centered!!

anyway, i still have all 4 stock cats... i would like to get rid of all of them and put on some high flows and new tips... would this alone satisfy my sound needs? i cant really afford $1600 for long tube system...

if anyone can please point me in right direction on where to purchase the cats and tips at I would appreciate it... thanks

You might want to look into these for cats:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2446372447

I have been told that carsound is made by magnaflow, just doesnt have the "shiney" heat shield.

BTW: just noticed that they actually say "magnaflow" now in the title. It used to say carsound.

I have the Magnaflow CatBack system. I dunno how loud you like but I personnally love mine. I still have all cats on my truck and its a nice deep low tone at cruise and at WOT its just LOUD. Most of us are gonna try to steer you to either Magnaflow or Bassani.

My Magnaflow came with chrome tips, and I just had the muffler shop slightly bend them to make them stick out like this....I like the look. I got the cat-back for 369+shipping from Mark at LFP.

Hope I helped a lil

Josh

Scott just call terry. His "wild" system is just about as loud, or louder than my full bassani setup. With the wild setup and factory cats its still loud and cleand sounding.

if i were to have started from scratch, i would have done it right with basani... but i bought it used and previous owner put the flowmasters on...

anyway, if i was to buy those high flow magnaflow (carsound) cats.... and kept my flowmaster... would it make a difference? dont get me wrong... the flowmasters arent real quite... they have a little grumble... but i feel like when I pull up to some of these mustangs and cameros around town that i sound like a lincoln town car.. i want it louder....

99% sure that if you cut out the 4 factory and replace them with two of the Magnaflows, it will be considerably louder. IMO

Scott - I agree with Mike. Call Terry and get it done the right way. Go to his web site www.performanceresearchonline.com and mouse over to the exhaust page. The top picture is my truck and Magnaflow is a great system.

Scott i bet terry will beat most other places. Dont quote me on that tho. But i have seen his work and its 100% perfect. You truck wont leave his shop unless your tips are perfect, mufflers are aligned right.

ugh... not worth it.

~$30/ea for the Carsound (Magnaflow) cats... I have them on mine, no pre cats, and the Mangaflow "cat-back". LOVE IT.

Sometimes wish it was louder, but right now, it's just PERFECT.

Scott he's right, although I personally installed my own exhaust, I had Terry install my gauges and e-fan. All I can say is his work is top notch, and the best part is he's local.
