I wish dad still had his WesT coast chopper. That was one bad ride.

personally,i think the bikes are overpriced.their basic bikes are in the 30-50k price range. The really special ones are over 100k.You can buy a harley which in my opinion is a much better value with EVERYTHING chromes all customized screamin eagle for 27-29k.These choppers might be expensive now but when the tv series ends, they will hardly be worth a fraction of what they are selling for.Choppers are probally,(no they are) they most depriciated bikes you can get.

The whole chopper thing is over-played...

You cannot go anywhere with out seeing some punk wearing a West Coast Choppers T-shirt or decal on their car.

FAD!

Like they say, it only takes a few to ruin it for the rest...

I don't know guys, they make some nice custom bikes and yeah it might be a fad cause its on TV for most of the people in the world, but people who appreciate the bikes and the works of art they are know there worth every penny.

I would gladdly pay that much if I had money out of my butt!

Who me??? naaaaaaah

Actually there are somethings i cannot afford and if i ever could.I would buy.Things like a ferrari or a Mercedes 500sl or a real nice custom harley.Or a restored muscle car.Stuff that i feel might be expensive for my budget but stil will hold a good value when the $$ is all gone.I just cannot see spending $50-100K on a motorcycle which is technically 15K-20k worth of steel no matter what you do to it.Because when all things come down to reality. Its gonna be 15k-20k worth of steel. The things i stated above are just my taste but they also have a proven value and exceptance over time.Although i dont like things like artwork,I feel that would be a nice purchase for some people.

I see this chopper thing as a FAD as well, however I liked choppers before the FAD, and I will still like them when the FAD is done. The WCC in the auction is "just ok" to me, I would call that one an entry level basic for sure.

You mention that in the end all you have is 15 to 20k worth of steel no matter what you do to it... by that logic: you and I, and everyone else are only worth about 8 dollars in basic chemicals. You cant just go buy a bulk of material and have a chopper, or a human... its the essance of its creation and the value of what it becomes...

or something... Im going to go get some more caffiene

I see the OCC bikes and the West Coast choppers as totally differnt bikes. Yea, both look great but one is put together and one is made. OCC buy's an awefull lot of stuff and just bolts things up. Anyone can do that. On the other hand WCC hand builds a lot of things and designs thier own fuel tanks and fenders, frames, etc. I would go West Coast chopper any day of the week compared to the OCC ones. I think the entire bike community would agree. JJ has done a great job and his fad will not fade. Choppers have been around for ever and will stay around, even if he wasn't on TV. OCC on the other hand is very dependent of the TV.

There are a lot of "Bikers" here in FL

I have to agree about it being a trendy thing now. Every yuppy out their wants a "chopper" now for their sunday cruises. I see Iron Crosses on people's t-shirts everywhere I go.

At first I liked how I could buy all sorts of Iron Cross clothes and stickers, I have had an Iron Cross tattoo on my back since I was 17. Now Im kinda pissed that they are so common place. My tattoo has nothing to do with bikes, and never has, but I bet if I showed it to someone now they would think it stood for WCC, or OCC

Like all trends it will die, thankfully, I think the show is alright and all...but its about time for this crapola to end.
