Angry Bad Birthday Present

Well, it was my 35th birthday yesterday. Unfortunately for me, it sucked and I didn't get one present or card. In fact I really hate what I did get... a deer in the headlights on an icy road!

I did hit the deer as my only other option was to go off a mountain road (not good). The road was icy, so I couldn't stop well and just barely tagged the deer. It was just enough to break my grill and the painted trim around the grill and headlights.
I'm glad that there is no metal damage, but I still need to replace some parts and one is a painted part.

Anyone replace these on their truck before? If so, were the parts expensive? If anyone has a nice stock 03 grill because they have replaced it with billet, please let me know. I would like to buy your stock grill!

Thanks,
Greg

Thanks!

Thanks blown318, and 01 Arrest Me Red,

I think I will go to a Ford dealer over lunch today to see what the grille and trim piece cost. It would be great if the trim piece came painted already, but I'm guessing not.

I hope you killed the deer and threw him in the ole L. Free deer meat isnt that bad of a present....

You gotta look at the silver lining. While we're on this subject, I went hunting for deer this Thanksgiving and didn't get close to a deer. As I was driving home at night after the second day, I passed at least 10-12 deer (one was an 8 point I believe) standing on the side of I-75. I hate those bastards.

The deer got away!! Not even hurt. I'm thinking of taking up deer hunting and tracking that SOB for some revenge!

Actually I'm lucky that it wasn't an elk. We have many, many elk around here, and had it been an elk, I would by buying a new L. The elk do sometimes cross in front of vehicles, but they just don't seem as dumb as the deer are.

That sucks about the deer. This fall go look for one with a Ford emblem imprinted on his side and get even. For deacent prices on Ford parts check with www.fordpartsnetwork.com I have used them before and would highly recomend them. They sell original Ford parts that are WAY below dealership prices. Some of the parts come already painted too.
