Talking Screw the warrantee

decided to toss the warrantee to the wind and start modding. Right now i'm looking for a chip 4lb and a ram air or maybe just a cold air kit. who has the best price?

good info thanks.....quick question though

how much better is the predator over a delta chip? which one is more easily detected by a dealership?

i know this has probably been said a million times so i'm not looking for a full explanation....just a definitive one or the other. thanks guys.

i dont have either, so dont take my word on this...

in the end, i think you can get the same results form both products (predator is made by diablo and JLP tunes diablo chips also), but you can only load one tune at a time with the predator, where you could get a dual or four prgram chip. but the diablo you have no down time since the tuner can email you a new tune instead of sending you chip in.

and from what ive heard (NO confirmation yet), you can load your stock tune back in with the predator before you go to the dealer, and it SHOUDN'T be detected. but i would count on that, ford is sneaky, im sure theyre already working on a way to figure this out.

id go with the predator if i were to get one or the other (hypotheticly!!!) i think itll be quicker and you can make some fine tuning yourself...

ahh, just read your edit...so to answer your question...i dont know...

fwiw the dealer can detect when the pcm was last flashed not sure if its a time stamp or code but if the dealer wanted to they can see if it was changed prior to taking it in. but it is less detectable to go with the predator. as you wont need to remove the pcm to scrap off the contact glue stuff.

I'd go with the Predator. It's easier to install than a chip, won't come unplugged(most don't anymore), less detectable by the dealer, and you get the same tune w/ some adjustablity. I'd recommend:
JLP Ram Air
Predator
4-6lb lower pulley depending on your goals.

Go with the JDM package that has the big intercooler. I have bought these products individually and it was a lot more.

hehehe they already tried voiding the warantee on me for putting clear corners on it. LOL And then a month later the fuelsystem blew...lines......rails....injectors....fuel pump. They told me i would be voided by tomorow....borrowed one of my fathers lawyer friends and got that straightened out. If i look at them wrong they threaten to void me........hehehehe i get a kick out of it. Thanks alot for the info. JR

That is not an issue, even the worst mechanic cant tear up the 14mm center pully nut.... you wont notice any wear on the pulley or the legs unless a real "Hack" mechanic takes it off...

Or if your like me and swapped the pulley with less than 200 mile and it has no wear marks on the pulley.

Trying to void warranty of clear tails is a new one in my book. Ford warranty sucks nuts.
