fyi......It was reported to me that shipping/packing with UPS from my location would be $81.00

 

Why is shipping so dam much money ?????

Yeah Shipping is a issue mine was $55.00 each way $110.00 total I am sure it will be worth it though. Mine has been down for a month now I am trying to match up to the Gator and Rob without the Giggle gas though!

 

Who said Rob's wasn't on it way SOMEWHERE to be ported

Rollinglimp, Congrats on the install and upgraded blower, it sounds like your really happy.

To others: Where is this info that says our blower bolts are torque to yield ? I have seen several of the recalls done of 99/00 trucks and never were the bolts replaced, only the gaskets. Also usually a TQ2Yield bolt will have a Torque sequence and then after that it will say tighten bolt a additional 90 degrees, our bolts have just a single torque step. This comes from both the Ford CD and the Factory Service Manual. In everycase where Ive seen a T2Yield bolt, the manual will warn you, where has it been posted that these are Torque 2 yield ?

 

Ya shipping sucks! Everytime I've tried to ship something it's never been close what I've been quoted or what a resonable price would be. I understand that there are some fees and such but $20 difference!?

Anyhow the blower itself weighed about 30 pounds. With packaging and everything the UPS lady told me it was 33, but I looked at my bill just now and it says 36lbs...After Apten was done with it and shipped it back somehow it weighed 45lbs? And they didn't have the box full of packing corn like I did. But thats another discussion another time....


As for the discussion now...I love my truck and my added power Maybe I can one up all you guys and get into the 11's...without nitrous...on F1's ....May have to borrow Vinnie's 8# lower

Jeff are you going to a UPS Customer Counter or a UPS store ? The UPS Stores have a markup over what UPS charges to ship stuff, thats how they make money. Everytime Ive done a price quote on UPS.com it has been very close to what the website quote was. The difference in price is usually because I guessed the weight and dimensions wrong.

 

Just wait til *** dealer sells you some suspension component that don't fit your truck properly....then when you go the UPS store and tell them you want to ship some "shackles and hangers" and all the folks just stop and look at you real funny......

 

Wow!!!!! That shipping looks high. Mine was 16.00 VIA brown truck. I added 10 bucks to it for a 1000.00 insurance against loss.

I mailed it Monday at 1 PM and it arrived at their place Wed morning at 11 AM.

I am just North of Dallas Texas.
