Need some plug help!!!

I will be taking on the task of changing my plugs tommorow. I will be going with NGK-TR5's. I am current running 6 pounds of extra boost on my Lightning. What should I gap my plugs to?

I heard that I should gap them to .036 but rather make sure and ask for you all opinions and help.

Thanks in advance.

NGK TR-6 gapped .035 w/ Lightning upper, 4# lower
Stock boost to +2 - .038-.042

+3 to +4 psi- .036-.038

+5 to +6 psi- .032-.036

more than +6psi- .028-.032

Found this on a F150online thread...

Hope this helps a little!

I wouldnt suggest tr5's with that much boost. Better swap out for tr6's before you put em, Id gap them .36.

I think what he was trying to say is that the TR5/55 is not cold enough if you are running 6# over....A TR-6 is usually preferred....

Since this was what I saw:

NGKTR55IX All NGK V-Power Sparkplugs (NGKTR55IX supercharged and N.O.S. applications) $ 7.88 each

NGKTR5 All NGK V-Power Sparkplug (TR5 standard performance upgrade replacement) $ 2.95 each

NGKTR6 All NGK V-Power Sparkplugs (TR6 supercharged and N.O.S. applications) $ 2.95 each

I went with the most expensive ones becuase I thought I was getting the best ones.

Can I still use the NGKTR55IX o not? I been running my stock plugs with 6 extra pounds for over 6000+ miles and have never had a problem. But now that my truck has over 32,000+ I felt like I needed new ones. Don't get me wrong my Lightning really suffers because I have a really heavy foot. I race anything that Rev's me.

Sell the TR-5's on here or NLOC...And go to Autozone or whatever main parts store you have, most of them carry a TR-6.....

To tell you the truth, with 6lbs of pulley you should be running
7's, (not 6's)
Or if you want the best, then go with Denso IT 22's
(thats 2 zones colder than 5's) I run them with 4 or 6lbs of
pulley and they work flawless.

I gap mine at .038 - .040 with juice + 6lbs and like I said they run
flawless with no misses ANYWHERE in the RPM range, and they
idle like you can not believe compared to TR6's

I have a 4# lower and a 2.8 upper making about 15# of boost with a chip. I was using NGK-TR6's with just the 4# but sense I put on the 2.8 upper, I just recently got around to putting in NGK-BR7's. I haven't taken the truck out yet, it's been snowing, and it's sitting in the garage.

Well I got my plugs done.(NGK-TR6's)
After carefully inspection I noticed that I had three plugs that were really bad. I was told that my L was running to lean. They were really burned up and the tips where white.

And I got a friend to hook me up with a great deal on getting my transmisssion flushed and my injectors clean on a dealership close by.

I can't believe how black my transmission oil was after 33000+ miles. More like I was running chocolet on my transmission. My injectors were really bad as well. In the meanwhile I also got new brake pads all around.

I haven't really had the opportunity to test my L with the tune up I gave it. I sent my chip to get flashed. But I know that I wasnt suppose go WOT with the extra boost and no chip.... felt great the only WOT I gave it.......ok ok ok I will my leave my L alone until I get my chip back.
