TPS adjustment tips

1) Instead of using the commonly posted method of poking the wires with a pin; slide a safety pin alongside the wire and into the back of the plug. This way you wont damage the wire.

2) With the safety pins you can slide the probes from the volt meter into the end hole of the pin and leave them there while you make your adjustment while watching the meter. You won't need to keep putting the probes onto the pins to check the voltage then remove them to make your adjustment.

Come on Rob, you can't properly tap a wire but you are a walking dictionary when it comes to the word "timing"

Thanks for the tip. Since I just got my new Accufab TB, I'll be needing to make that adjustment.

All you need to know

Well that and the Pin Trick above

Dirt, you have never ever met a person with less patience
than me, EVER.
There I was poking and probing and chopping away to get my
dam reading, when all I had to do was use a pin.

They say lack is caused by a chemical imbalance in the late teens early twenties.

Great advice on the pins, davet!

Now if I can only figure how to get the screws out of the TPS since it appears some APE at the factory torqued it to 250 foot pounds...

I have some PBBlaster on it right now. I might have at it again tomorrow. That phillips screw is in there tight!

Just a question....Would you recommend doing this adjustment on ANY aftermarket Tb or just Accufab? I never did this when I installed mine so I am trying to figure out this whole thing....I havnt had any problems and I am wondering what the negative and positive side effects are for doing this!

At a boy Rob, I too have at least two strands of wire left. Still runs great.

I know what you mean about the tight screws. I had to use a vice grip on the top one. After I got it out I filed the head square and used a 3/8" open end to put it back.

Thanks for the info Davet. If I end up stripping the head I will try the vice grip trick!
