Update on engine swap
Ok guys, heres the deal. The motor is out and I have completely disassembled the block awaiting my built long block which hopefully should be arriving sometime in the upcoming week. All in all it was not that bad of a job to do by myself. The only help I had was actually pulling the motor with the cherry picker. Big thumbs up to my roomate Brett. Here is a link to my gallery. I am still uploading pictures as I type this. Hope you enjoy.https://www.f150online.com/galleries...w.cfm?num=5316
Mat, I had James at Race Related build me a long block. It consists of your basic rods/pistons and heads with stainless valves, five angle valve job and Stage II cams. Here is a link to some of the stuff going into the truck. I will be adding a twin screw and a Monster Box come this fall. https://www.f150online.com/galleries...w.cfm?num=5317

Looks good man. I hope to have enougth saved by the end of the summer to get a built motor and tranny but no twin screw at first. I will do the swap myself. What would you think a average mechanic could do the swap in saying i have a motor and tranny already ready to swap out?
I worked on the motor for five days from four to five hours a day before work and had NO help except hoisting the motor out. If I was on vacation and had the motor already here I could do it in a weekend no problem. I ran into no snags whatsoever pulling this motor.
doesnt sound to bad then.i cant wait to get a built motor in my truck so i can turn up the boost and add some juice.

i have a quick question. Why did you pull the heads with the engine in the compartment? I thought it would have been easier to pull the heads with the engine out.
Nice job, i wanna do that one day. Oh yeah, and i have to ask because i've always wonder and i always forget to check when im under the hood, where does the engine actually mount?

PSP 6 pound lower and Reichard Racing 2.75" upper pulley. As for juice I will start off with a 75 shot. By the way, I updated the album. The reason why I pulled the motor in the first place is in there.
Sad to say 25,9XX miles. If you notice in the pic where the spark plug electrode comes through there is actually metal missing. Also the intake valve is not seating fully. She went lean in that cylinder and fu(ked some ***** up royally. No more wide open throttle runs for me with an off the shelf chip. I learned my mistake.
