In How To Build Max-Performance 4.6-Liter Ford Engines, renowned engine builder and tuner Sean Hyland gives you a comprehensive guide to building and modifying Ford's 2- and 4-valve 4.6/5.4-liter engines.
Our motor is basically the same thing, so it should be useful. Assembly and building tolerances and techniques will be the similar if not the same.

I don't plan on building my own for now, but i like to know as much as possible about what's really going on down there.

Sorry Gadget Man, didn't see the 5.4,
If I ever end up doing a Built Motor, it will be me doing the
installation, a book like that can be worth it's weight in gold

there isnt much differences between the 2 motors, just stroke, block height, and the things that hold the cams down look a little different. but all the specs are the same. hence modular
