I had the same concern after my truck redlined @ 6000rpm at the track last fall (i think i heard my @ss slam shut- scared me to death ). Anyway I called JDM and they told me not to worry- my program was for either a 5400 or 5600 shift (i cant remember). They also said that the stock Tach's on our lightnings can be off by as much as 300 rpms. I felt better after that and havent blown up..........yet

Sounds like you need one of those 12" diameter ricer tachs to put on your A-pillar

The Update,
changed plugs, but still have a random miss over 1200 rpm. Not noticable at idle or driving just when you hold it at a steady rpm. I may have had the problem before changing the pulley and taking it down the track.
I did track down the ticking noise I was hearing. It is definitley coming from the injectors. Maybe the cause of the miss?
I guess I will take it to a mechanic who can diagnose the problem.

Thanks for all the help.

Jim
