Question Carseat mod?

We're looking for a carseat that is can be front and rear-facing up to at least 40 pounds. Our son is 21+ pounds and over 27 inches and has long outgrown his little plop-on-the-shopping-cart-carseat. Bought a Cosco that the belt wouldn't stay tight on. Tried a Graco ComfortSport and it didn't like the angle of the seat and couldn't be adjusted enough. We've got an Evenflo Titan 5 that works if you stick underneath it a couple pieces of that long foam cylinder that kids smack each other with in the pool in the summer. It's in my wife's car. We'd like to find one that works better for the L without dipping too much into the kid's college fund.

Thanks for your help.

I forget where I saw it, but somewhere I saw a Seat that looked like a lil Recaro Racing Seat. Came in different colors too.

We have this model britax seat for our 1 year old and this model britax for our 4 year old. They are good seats and are comfortable.
When I say this model I mean the older version. They have new version of these things every year.

The only one I have used on the Lightning has been the britax for the larger child. I see no reason why the other wouldn't work.

BTW, the main reason we purchased the britax one for the baby is because she outgrew the little rear facing seat we got her and the Britax latched easier and looked to be better quality than the other brands we looked at.

He is 7 months old, to little for a booster seat. Still needs to be rear facing for 5 months.

We have the Graco infant seat, and like it. So we got the Graco ComfortSport, but it won't adjust for the seat angle. The seat would have to be flat, not angled down like they are.

My sister has that brand of seat, its about $200-250. (can't put a price tag on his safety)

I like the Simpson seat but would need check the angle before buying it.

I did find one that the seat will adjust to 3(?) angles different from the base, so I may try it.
