Inlet had a some oil in it and the outlet had just a trace...never made it to the IC and saved me some work! Need to do something preventive when I put it all back together...

I am pulling the block out of my L today as soon as my roomate gets home. I have spent the past couple of days tearing the motor apart and I can say that I had a TON of oil in the intercooler. I took a bunch of pics but still have to up load them on here. I will probably get around to doing it today sometime. Needless to say that I will fix the problem before I even start the truck with the built long block.

I have no idea yet. After all the talk about PCVs I am brain dead. I will probably just go with the cobra PCV and the dime or the Swanson. Any suggestions??

AWESOME fractaldragon,
Thats great to see such a clean IC

I don't think I ever saw so many people go for the same Mod at once, especially when your not allowed to see it before hand,
or show it afterwards.

Don't get me wrong, awesome Mod showing awesome results,
schitt I'll be making the Porting Plunge eventually myself.
Just can't believe how many are doing it all at once.
Wish I thought of it, 4-5 hundred a pop times a few hundred
(prob to be thousands within a year) is pretty dam good money. Where do I get one of those machines. Hey V, got any porting machine thingamagiggies you wanna sell a Brother

Hey Fractaldragon, I'm curious. How many miles on your L when you tore it apart, and what were you doing as far as the PCV before you tore it appart? I think I want to do what you did since my L only has 2,300 miles on it before my IC gets to Fuggered up.

Mine turned 2,600 before I put her in storage. I have not done anything to the PCV system....yet....

Your intercooler was that clean with the PCV in stock configuration? If that's the case, then why are we messing with the stock PCV. Does anybody know if Ford made changes to the PCV for the '03 Model year? My head is starting to hurt again.

I was actually thinking the same thing. Those were fairly hard 2,600 miles put on. But the small pool of oil in the inlet I think disproves the theory of a "factory fix" for 03

Here is mine after 6000 miles.

I doubt they changed anything for the 03's. Mine is not real bad, but not real good either.
