JMS tune
JMS tune
I finally took the truck down to johnson motorsports in mobile al to get tuned. I talked with chris there and drove four hours to get there. The truck has had several chips from various vendors but has never gotten its pinging situation fixed since my maf and 42lb's. Anyways, we did a street tune with the 10psi pulley on the kb, spraying an h2o mist via aquamist injection. The truck pulled only two deg of timing, and we had to turn the knock sensor off bc it was picking up blower interference. We ran aprox 6 deg and that is as much as we could get away with(the truck was running 30deg before the tune). We tried more timiing but got slight detonation, I had to back it down to 4 for durability. I also put my six pound pulley on which is making 10psi in the cold air. From a dead stop, the truck will spin the tires through a good part of first gear leaving two long strips of rubber on the concrete, pretty impresive for a big 4x4 suv. Anyways, just wanted to see if any of you have done a tune at jms.

Back then he seemed like a very knowlegable person, and seemed to know his stuff.
I have thought about taking the Lightning down there, but I'm going to try someone in Charolette first, being its a lot closer.

i understand what you're saying. some people tend to take statements concerning their toy personally. lol ?
ironically, 99% of jms's buisness the last few years has been '99 up eec-v fords. also there was so much uproar over the overstated power figures of ford on the "new" then cobras; that at the time lots of tuners would run from a '99 snake. that changed when ford started the "fix".
chris and i have a relationship beyond ford tuning. even though he tunes every ford i own...he's a self proclaimed *** on the phone; in person sometimes too. we literally volley for the first few minutes every time we talk. he's a good guy past his offensive/defense.
if anyone calls jms...monte or the other chris have the patience and phone manners that most people expect... fyi
peace
