Replacing cracked Fog Lights

have a cracked lens... can I just pop the lens off and buy new lens or do I have to replace the entire fog light?

iv heard you can do just the lens, if thats true... where can I buy the lens? Also, can I get the clear lens instead of the ones with vertical lines in them (like mine have now)

I've been out of the loop for a while, but last I heard you had to replace the whole light. The light is basically the same as the ones on '86 Mustangs and those can be purchased from a number of sights for ~$40.

To change the light, there's a nut behind the light (inner side of air dam) that screws loose and the light will come out through the front. From there, it's pretty self explanatory. Good luck!

nope, you gotta get the whole assembly. Texasmustang.com sells them real cheap. You also might want to try this. I've been through 3 pairs... on this last pair i cut out the metal shield inside and took it out, then I put the bulb in, and then put metal silicone sealant around the back of the assembly, this pair hasnt cracked yet in numerous rain storms.

Lightning SVT - When you say the "whole assy." do you mean the glass part with the mounting plate that is sealed to it?

I ask because I just replaced my drivers side lamp yesterday which I purchased from Texas Mustang for around $35.00 or so.

These are for 88-93 and newer Mustang GT's.

It came with 2 light assy. which consists of the glass lens with the actual bulb mount "welded" to the back. They are made by Hella, and are about 99% identical to the Lightnings assy.

The negative contact is wider on the new assy. rather than the thin one on the Lightning.
I took my Rotozip to it, and it fit great.
Although I did notice the rubber cover that goes over the bulb, and wires is a little too small, but the housing should hold it together fine.

The bulb holder is a bit larger on the Lightning assy., and the tension arm that swings over to hold the bulb in place only has one arm as opposed to two for the Mustang GT lamp assy.

to change the light, use a small flathead screwdriver to pry up on this tab at the top of the foglight:

it will pop out & then you can replace it:

i bought some replacement lenses from Texas Mustang Parts http://www.texasmustang.com
Our 99-00 lenses are the same as 87-93 Mustang Fog lights. Texas Mustang sells them for $17.95 each.
they are reproduction units, and come with bulbs!!!!

plus i got some clear foglight covers for a 87-93 mustang to keep from breaking them..
