Warranty Denied...........

I have a rear axel gasket leaking, so like a dummy I took it in to Sheehy Ford to get it fixed under warranty... Should have fixed it my self................

Quote: diagnosis of leaking not covered by warranty per service manager _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ( name not important) Evidence of possible use in drag racing , Tire debris both wheel wells and traction ladder bars installed on truck ...........

Ok now I am even in the computer...............No biggie i guess I figured it was gonna happen when I started modding...........

PEacE..........................

Like you couldnt get rubber in the fenders on the street? Go back and tell them your driveway is steep and the POS Ford spins all the way up and that your going to trade it for a Chevy SS truck. Then take it to a real dealer

Good one bad ***

Lets face it Jim
Ford just plain old sucks when it comes to wrrnty work.
Some seem to have no problems, with other's it's a nightmare.
It seems each dealer does whatever the hell they feel like when it comes to wrrnty work. It just goes to show you that they don't give 2 schitts about us or return business.

Sorry to hear the wrrnty is OFICIALLY gone

Tell them you need the "traction ladder bars" to keep from breaking the Ford drive shaft.

It really makes it special when the SVT team are out at the track for all the FFW events.

Race it, but don't race it....gets confusing at times. I just figured the warranty was out the day I drove it off the lot.

Rocks

some warranty issues like blown motors and stuff seem pretty straight forward. you advance timing and create detonation, it blows up, then they dont want to pay. that seems pretty logical.

but, voiding warranty for a traction device is kinda stupid. especially when it protects things...ie drive shaft.

Ford Disclaimer: Doing as shown with YOUR SVT vehicle will void all warranties including rust protection. Do not do burnouts as shown in Ford and SVT advertisements. Do not race vehicle as shown in Ford and SVT advertisements. Do not drive over 75mph EVER. Do not lose traction EVER. Do not rev engine above 5000rpm. Enjoy your new high performance, limited production vehicle!

"We invite them to racetracks. Ford says, "If you race your car, you void the warranty." But [to us] this is not abuse: This is what the cars were made for. My attitude [about warranty claims]
is to give the customer the break. But I'll say when he comes in three weekends in a row and claims he blew his motor on the way to church, well..."

Hey Jim

Which Sheehy did you take it to?

I never had any issues with my truck and I always went to the one in Marlow Heights.
Heck, they even installed my 3:73's for me and covered the fluid change under warranty and did a ticket claim that I was complaining about a noise from the rear.

Later...
Bruce

Its probably not a good idea to identify Dealers that work with you and make adjustments for you. Because if it raises problems for them, they will stop.
I have a good relationship with a dealer next to me. But I would not want them to do anything that they would get in trouble for.
take care

GOOD QUESTION SVT150!

Per the SVT F-150 Lightning Owner's Guide Supplement

Operating At High Speeds (Page 16)
Your SVT vehicle is capable of high speeds and is equipped with tires rated for the vehicles maximum speed. Remember to drive safely, obey all traffic laws and only operate your SVT vehicle at high speeds at locations equipped and designed to do so safely. Before operating your vehicle at high speeds:

* Assure correct tire pressure (see "Tires" previously listed)
* Inspect wheels and tires for wear and damage. Replace any damaged wheels or tires.
* Do not operate your vehicle at high speeds with more than two passengers or while carrying cargo.

A Word About Warranty Coverage (Page 18)
SVT does not recommend modifying or racing our vehicles, as they are designed and built to be driven as delivered from the factory.

So which is it Ford/SVT?

Jim is the axle leaking out of the front pinion seal, or out of one of the side axle seals.

If it is leaking out of the front pinion seal, that is a common problem. It took my dealer 3 times to fix mine.
