SHOULD OLD GASKET BE USed YES OR NO

Exclamation SHOULD OLD GASKET BE USed YES OR NO

Doing a factory tech valve body change although ford says that old gasket is reuseable new gasket cost over $30.00 i have second thoughts about useing old gasket.also installing new 4x4 pan many mechanics say old gasket is reuseable only have 2500 miles on lightning who has done this FTVB and did you use old gasket thanks

YES you can reuse the old gaskets.

Let's see, $33,000 truck v.s. $30.00 gasket ... I know
which one I would use but that's just me.

If you can't justify spending $30, maybe you belong in a
less maintenence hungry vehicle. <grin>

I reused the old gasket with no problems with the Morroso trans pan.

i re-used the old gasket aslo with the moroso and had no leaks at all!

isnt it printed on the pan that the gasket is designed to be reused ?

I have had my pan off my L 5 times and reused the gasket every time with no leaks as of yet nock on wood!

If you like throwing money away, get a new gasket. If not reuse your gasket, that's what I did. Local Fords techs don't use new ones, unless they look real bad.

Just did my FTVB yesterday and reused the gasket.

The gasket is intended to be reused. Why throw $30.00 away if you don't need to.

THANKS YOU ARE RIGHT FORD SAYS IT IS WASTE OF MONEY

Thanks guys you are right ford tech told me if i had money to burn ok. But that gasket will last from now on why waste money on something you don't need.

Wink WHAT AN AWESOME MOD NOTHING LIKE IT/

Why didn't i do this FTVB mod before now WOW is all i can say will save my transmission also thanks fellows for your input and encouragement/ TOM

It is a reusable gasket so YES, reuse it! Most everybody reuses it!
