been waiting for someone to do something like this.

Easier, harder than tuning the stock pcm? Im thinking easier, but maybe harder to find tuner? I dunno.

How do you handle other pcm functions? Windows, locks, radio etc. Does the pcm read rpms and speedo correctly for the stock gauges even if the pcm doenst control the engine?

Is there anything there that lets you display specific info to a computer or anything like that?

Does this mess with ODB etc or anything revolving in smog testing?

Sorry, I've been curious about this for awhile.

Oh yeah, how much power ya making

I'm guessing it just piggy-backs to the stock ecm to take over fuel and timing issues and lets the factory computer handle the other stuff.

what i figured too, just turn the key to on and then the fast system takes over from there, just wanted to be sure. Also wanted to know if the pcm can tell if its running the engine or not so the gauges would work. I'm thinking its fine but just was curious about any conflicts.

Im also really curious abour getting live info while driving to a laptop or something to that nature.

I was hoping you would post about this.....did you get the Bauminator and the FAST to work well together ?

Other Pcm functions are still handled by the stock eec which you can see above the FAST unit in the picture. Yes it is possible to data log from the sensors.

As far as smog goes Im sure it matters what state you live in, but in reality very few of us could pass a true visual inspection. After putting in the cage etc I have very little interest in driving it on the street anyway so it wasnt a concern for me.

Tuning it is fairly easy because it is a wideband closed loop system. FAST has been around for a long time, and there are people with experience tuning on it in most major areas. The difficult (or new) issue with the install was making FAST work properly on a coil over ignition.

I cannot give you any specifics yet on power. In theory power should improve especially at lower rpms where currently our trucks are difficult to tune using a chip. I don't expect it will be significantly better than it was using a chip. However I do expect that it will remove all the "gremlins" I was having before with the Ford eec , and will allow me to do more in the future without being restricted.

Dale, yes Im using the Baumnator for tranny control and it seems to be fine after being tuned by Sal (PSP). It is a seperate system and does not interact with the FAST system.

This may or may not have been a good decision, time will tell.

That means that is a speed density system?
I'm kinda tired of worrying about maxing the mass air. Since my truck isn't a track truck I wonder if a Fast or accel system would be easier to make work with higher boost levels?
This is only 22 psi...

Wow Leonard............5's across the board when you step on it

I was logging HIGH ROLLER's MAF voltage on the way down to BG last summer.........he was peaking at 4.8............around 145mph or so

Yes it is speed density. No more MAF.

Calightnin, what part # did you get and how did you do the coil packs? From what I read on their site it is 2 cylinders per coil or something.
Also, we are bank to bank system right?
Did you get the harness and everthing in the kit or did you get the one w/o and just tap the stock harness?
What injectors are you using? High impedence, low impedence? I'm guessing 83lb lowimpedence injectors?
Does yours control the IAC, fuel pumps, and electric fans?
You got the one which does close loop with the widebandO2?
Did you get the one which can control each cylinders spark and fuel?
Did you install the system yourself or have someone do it? Would you do it again? What about accel gen VII?
I'm figuring that in the long run it is probably cheaper and maybe easier to tune for all the boost and cams and everything...

I see in different places the 5.4 and 4.6 are the same part
#30-115010? Is that the one you got? I see a lot of places sell it for around $2000. Is that a decent price or are there other places even less expensive?
Any problems in getting it installed?
