Dynatech vs Kooks Long tubes. Factual information inside

don't see the Dynatech's on any of the 10 second trucks. You could count on one hand on how many problems we have had with gaskets blowing out and that was becuase of the bolts not being torqued down properly. With our headers you DO NOT have to jack up the motor or remove the starter or cable. I'm not sure where you are getting this information from.
First of all, the Dynatech headers are on plenty of 10 second trucks.

Secondly, you dont have to remove the starter or jack up the engine to install the Dynatech headers, nor do you have to remove the pass side wiring/ground or inner fenderwells if you dont want to, but removing the fenderwells does make it easier.

I personally watched my local tuner install the full Stainless Steel Jet hot coated Dynatech system on my Lightning and it was a very easy install, plus the collector length is the same as the Kooks and the collectors merge the tubes better than the Kooks (I have seen both side by side)

No paper gaskets for me, the soft lead donut design works great and I will never blow out a collector gasket.

For what others wants for a full system that is not totally stainless steel and Jet Hot coated, I got the Dynatech full system and I am totally happy with the sound/quality and performance.

Not a flame, just wanted to clarify a few things, thanks.

Happy New year everyone and be safe.

I am sure they are both quality products.

I have had my Kooks headers on for two years with no problems.

Kooks has a good reputation in various vehicals, I am sure Dynatech does too. I am also sure both brands have had a few problems too.

Thats all I am going to say, choose the ones you like best.

Grey03 - Why are you stirring up problems here ?

The issue - if there was one - was never on this board. Lets keep the issues where they belong. If you have a problem with a post on another board post your reply there...

Thanks Doug

Posting the actual facts about a product isnt stirring up problems.. Look at my original post now and tell me if its worded more towards your liking.

I dont post on NLOC because that site doesnt support its supporting vendors and for other political reasons.

Thank you.

See I figured you didnt post there cause you were banned ...repeatedly....

The point of my post was and is leave the hot button issues that were started somewhere else, wherethey were started. The original post was as if you were answering a question - trouble is that question was never asked here and there was no link to the background thread, so its totally out of context and worded in a way to get something started here

I don't know?I thought stainless wasn't supposed to rust but I could be wrong.Maybe they all wind up looking like this after a little time.

Those aren't stainless. Looks to be the coated mild steel ones, that are rusting through. Most coated mild steel headers will rust through over time, but it usually takes a few years. I have the stainless on my truck, for over two years now, and they look no different than new.

Let's see.... I've had my stainless steel JDM Kooks headers almost since the day JDM announced them, about 3 years now, and they were removed from my old engine and put on my built JDM engine with no problems.

Furthermore no wires, starter or anything else had to be removed with the exception of the fender well covers. The only thing I disconnected was my battery cable for safety reasons.

They headers still look new....

The install was done on jack stands in my garage.

My collectors don't leak because I used copper gaskets.

Yes Griffey stainless steel can and does rust. You must live in cold country where they put sand & salt on the roads for icing conditions. Sorry that happened.

Hope everybody has a safe and Happy New Year!!!

I started thinking they were just coated mild steel ones Sal.I just didn't think Kooks even made mild steel headers.I thought they were "high end" as far as headers are concerned and wouldn't think they would even put their name on something that would wind up looking this bad.(reflects on them)It does have their JDM/Kooks badge still on it.I'll probably just go back to stock stuff or Bassani I guess once these blow a hole.
